Welcome to Oak Class!

In Oak Class, we follow the National Curriculum to give children a strong academic foundation while fostering curiosity and a love of learning. Our teaching is adaptive, ensuring every child receives the support and challenges they need to thrive. Each day, students take part in Little Wandle phonics lessons, Kinetic letters handwriting, reading, maths, and writing lessons, alongside structured TEACCH activities to support focus, independence, and life skills. Through this combination of targeted learning, hands-on activities, and collaborative opportunities, we help children develop into confident, motivated, and well-rounded learners.
If you have any questons, or concerns please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Developing Confident Handwriters
This year, we are using the Kinetic Letters approach to support children in developing fluent, confident and legible handwriting. Kinetic Letters combines movement, rhythm and consistent letter formation to help children develop the correct pencil movements and build muscle memory. Through regular practice, children will learn how letters are formed, how they sit on the line and how to join their writing as their skills develop. We are excited to see the children grow in confidence and take pride in their handwriting as they become increasingly independent writers.
