Acer Class - Year 4

Welcome to Acer Class!

Welcome to year 4 Acer class! We are a curious and enthusiastic class who love to challenge ourselves and celebrate our learning. We take great pride in mastering our times tables and enjoy finding new ways to practise and improve our skills every day. Reading is at the heart of our classroom, and we love getting lost in exciting stories, discovering new authors, and sharing our favourite books with one another. Our curiosity about the world shines through in our history and geography learning, where we enjoy exploring different times, places, and cultures. We ask thoughtful questions, make connections, and love finding out how the past and present shape the world around us. 

Our PE days are Thursday and Friday this term. We will be doing a range of activities from Athletics to Team games.

Please bring your child’s reading book and record to school every day, but especially Friday’s so their book can be changed if needed.  

Term 5 -

Year 4 have enjoyed another exciting term of learning. In History, they explored Ancient Egypt and created their own Egyptian-inspired necklaces, bringing their learning to life through art and design. In Science, pupils became taxonomists, learning how living things can be classified into different groups based on their characteristics. In English, they developed their skills in writing clear and effective instructions, while in Maths they focused on understanding and working with decimals.

Finally, Year 4 are closely approaching their times tables test which they have been working hard on all year to achieve the target of 25/25. Going into term 6 the children are going to continue this work ethic to make sure they achieve the target which I’m sure they will. Keep up the amazing work Acer class!
