Chestnut Class - MCC

Welcome to Chestnut Class!

Chestnut Class is part of our formal curriculum pathway within our dedicated autism provision, The Margaret Coates Centre. Pupils follow the National Curriculum in a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters curiosity and inspires a love of learning.

Throughout the year, children access a broad and engaging curriculum, developing their ability to collaborate while celebrating their achievements together. Each day includes focused learning in spelling, times tables, maths and English, alongside a varied wider curriculum in the afternoons. A key priority is preparing pupils for a confident transition to secondary school, while also supporting them to better understand their autism.

• Katie (Class Teacher) - Monday – Friday (out Tuesday am - Leadership / Thursday am - PPA)
• Alysha (SEN TA) - Monday – Friday 
• Clare (HLTA) - Tuesday am (Leadership - Week 2 and 4)  
• Ellie (Art Specialist) - Thursday am (PPA) 

Important Information: 

• PE is every Tuesday pm - this term it is swimming. Please bring your kit in every Tuesday. 
• Reading records and books need to be in school every day so we can hear the children read.
• SNACK - please provide a suitable snack for your child. (We are a NUT free school)
