"We could always do with more helping hands so please get in touch if you're interested in joining us-we're a friendly bunch"
The Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) is run by parents with the aim of organising events that bring parents, children and teachers together to have fun, and raise money for our great school at the same time. We are a registered charity and every parent is welcome to join us.
Anyone who has been to the Summer Fete, the Christmas Fair or a school disco will know what an exciting addition to the school term events bring. The funds raised are intended to provide "extras" which will benefit the children, often fun things to make learning more interesting and exciting, such as school trips and events, sports and play equipment. The PTFA helped fund the PlayPod and the refurbishment of the swimming pool.
Look out for information about forthcoming events in the school newsletter.
It is true that "many hands make light work" and we cannot run these events without parents volunteering to help. If you cannot commit to being part of the PTFA committee, there are many other different ways you can support us throughout the year. We are always looking for people to help with stalls, set up and tidy up after events, bake cakes for cake sales, and so on.
We welcome your involvement, whether you have lots of time to offer or not. The PTFA committee meets once a term to plan events and this is an opporunity for every parent come along and put forward your suggestions and ideas. The date for the meeting is advertised in the school newsletter and on the noticeboard. If you think you can give some time contact Anna Thorne or Rilla George via the school office.
The PTFA are registered with TheGivingMachine.co.uk - when you shop on-line if you go through TheGivingMachine.co.uk, the retailer will give a donation to our school and it doesn't cost you a penny ~ You shop, they give!!
